A couple months ago I completed my 11th year of photographing kids. To put that into perspective (and to make me feel a little old), the first newborns I photographed are now in middle school. The first toddlers I photographed are now teenagers. And the first preschoolers I photographed are getting their driver’s licenses. What an amazing decade+ it’s been! It’s been such a blessing to see so many amazing kids through my lens.
A few years ago I started a second business, making and selling unique children’s clothes. That business was born of my desire to create, and I love being able to design new products and exercise my creativity. TotTude has grown steadily over the past few years, and this year I really found myself being stretched thin trying to keep up with both my clothing business and my photography business. I decided to take a (very necessary) break from photography in August while preparing for a Zulily event for TotTude. I intended to start booking sessions again after I was done with Zulily, but orders kept coming in and I found that I didn’t have the time or energy to do both anymore. I knew with the busy season approaching for both businesses, I had to make a choice between the two, otherwise my work in both would suffer. So after much thought and prayer, I have decided to say goodbye to Blessings Photography and give 100% of my effort to TotTude. Depending on where life leads, it may end up being more of a “See you later” and not a permanent goodbye, but as for now I am no longer booking photography sessions. Photography will always be a big part of my life and I will never put my camera down. I’m also keeping my studio equipment up and will still book modeling mini sessions to model my clothing items from time to time.
I have been so blessed by all of my wonderful clients over the last 11 years. My best estimate is that I have had the privilege of working with around 1,000 different families and double that many kids. I never imagined that Blessings would grow into what it did, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
